In the opinion of analysts, Microsoft is a step ahead of the competition in the AI race thanks to the popularity of its new Bing and OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Google’s Bard, and Microsoft’s new Bing are making headlines. Despite the fact that artificial intelligence (AI) is not a new idea, interest in the field surged with the success of OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The AI chatbot was released in November 2022, and it quickly became the topic of all conversation.
Microsoft’s new Bing was unveiled in February, and the AI chatbot aspect of the revised search engine was being applied by people all around the world. Bing had its share of troubles when it first launched (it was accused of gas lighting users, blackmailing them, and so on), but Microsoft worked to address these concerns, and the objections soon subsided. Bing soon introduced an image generating tool that was driven by OpenAI’s DALL.E.
According to estimates, Microsoft’s investment in the AI area may have already begun to pay off. Analysts also believe that Microsoft is dominating the AI field with products such as ChatGPT and Bing.
Microsoft ruling the AI industry:
Microsoft’s Chief Financial Officer, Amy Hood, reportedly stated in a conference call with analysts that the firm anticipates its cloud subsidiary, Azure, to achieve revenue growth of 26% to 27% in the upcoming quarter compared to the same quarter last year.
Thus, Microsoft may exceed Google in the field of artificial intelligence, and Azure may be on the verge of overtaking Amazon Web Services (AWS) as “a bigger and more important hyper scale provider.”
Dan Ives, a Wed bush analyst, is also quoted in the article as noting that while the AI narrative is still in its “first innings,” “Microsoft is leading this tech AI arms race.”
