Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again secured the title of the world’s most popular leader with an impressive 76% global approval rating, as reported by ‘Morning Consult.’ This accolade has been celebrated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders who attribute it to the enduring “Modi magic.” The survey results demonstrate that even during international crises like the Covid-19 pandemic, Modi’s leadership remains highly regarded, setting him apart from other world leaders. BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla emphasized that Modi’s success in delivering development, managing inflation, and lifting over 13.5 crore people out of poverty contributed to the positive approval ratings. Poonawalla predicts that this global endorsement will reflect in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy expressed pride in Modi’s status as the “world’s most popular leader,” highlighting his excellent administrative and legislative experience and empathetic leadership. BJP leader CT Ravi praised Modi as a “karma yogi” whose hard work, vision, and dedication to transforming the country have consistently earned him high approval ratings. Ravi noted that the entire world looks up to Modi for guidance in problem-solving. BJP leader Prakash Javadekar echoed the sentiment, declaring Modi as “My PM… My Pride! World’s Most Popular Leader!” While Modi has consistently held the title of the most popular leader among surveyed government leaders, the recent survey showed a slight dip in his approval percentage from 78% to 76% since November 20. The seven-day moving average of adult residents in each country was the basis for the US-based company’s latest approval ratings, with sample sizes varying by country. In India, the sample size ranged from roughly 500 to 5,000, and the data was collected from November 29 to December 5. Following Modi in the global popularity chart were Mexican leader Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador with a 66% approval rating and Swiss leader Alain Berset with a 58% approval rating. Modi’s consistent high rankings underscore his strong standing both domestically and on the global stage.
