A Delhi-based law student, Riddhima Kapoor, has issued a legal notice to the organisers of the Dil-Luminati Tour after a troubling experience with ticket sales. Kapoor, who was unable to secure a ticket for the highly anticipated concert, alleges that the booking process was mishandled, resulting in unfair access to tickets.
According to Kapoor’s legal notice, the concert organisers had announced that the booking window for tickets would open at 1 pm on September 12. However, Kapoor claims that the booking window was actually opened a minute earlier, at 12:59 pm. This premature release allowed hundreds of fans to purchase tickets almost immediately, leaving many others, including Kapoor, without tickets due to the organisers’ alleged error.
Kapoor’s notice accuses the organisers of malpractice and violating consumer rights. The law student asserts that the early opening of the ticket window was not communicated properly, leading to a situation where the majority of tickets were snapped up within the first minute. This left several fans, who were waiting for the announced time, without the opportunity to purchase tickets.
The legal action highlights concerns about transparency and fairness in ticket sales, particularly for high-demand events. Kapoor’s complaint suggests that such practices not only inconvenience fans but also undermine trust in the event organisers’ ability to manage ticket distribution equitably.
The organisers of the Dil-Luminati Tour have yet to respond to the allegations or the legal notice. The incident raises broader questions about ticketing practices for major events and the responsibilities of organisers to ensure a fair process for all prospective attendees. The resolution of this issue could have implications for future ticket sales and consumer protection in the entertainment industry.
