The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) is set to enhance the travel experience for passengers on its Mumbai-Pune E-Shivneri buses with the introduction of the “Shivneri Sundari” service. Inspired by airline hospitality, this new initiative will offer passengers the warmth and care typically associated with flight attendants, without any additional cost. The MSRTC aims to elevate its quality of service, ensuring that passengers feel comfortable and well-cared for throughout their journey.
The decision to implement the “Shivneri Sundari” service was made during the 304th MSRTC board meeting, chaired by Bharat Gogawale, the newly appointed Chairman. Over 70 significant topics were discussed, including the deployment of “Sundari” attendants on the E-Shivneri buses. These attendants will greet and assist passengers, enhancing the overall travel experience by providing top-notch hospitality similar to what is offered in air travel. The initiative aims to make long-distance bus journeys more comfortable and enjoyable, especially for those traveling frequently between Mumbai and Pune.
Despite the introduction of premium services, the MSRTC has ensured that passengers will not be charged extra for these added conveniences. The “Shivneri Sundari” attendants will help improve customer satisfaction by offering personalized service to travelers.
In addition to this initiative, the MSRTC also announced the establishment of “Anand Arogya Kendras” (Anand Health Centers) at 343 state bus stations across Maharashtra. These centers, named in honor of the late Anand Dighe and conceptualized by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, will provide healthcare services to both passengers and local residents. The centers will offer diagnostic tests and medicines at affordable rates, housed within 400-500 square centimeter spaces at the bus stations. The clinics will feature pathology labs and pharmacies, making it convenient for travelers to access essential healthcare services.
These developments mark MSRTC’s continued efforts to improve passenger experience and provide added value to their services.
