Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib Gurdwara on Monday and took part in serving food to devotees in the langar. In a heartwarming gesture, PM Modi also assisted the Gurdwara management in cooking food for the langar.
The visuals of PM Modi’s ‘seva’ at the Sikh place of worship quickly went viral. In a video circulating widely, Prime Minister Narendra Modi can be seen serving food to Sikh people from a steel bucket. Those receiving food from him expressed their gratitude for his humble service.
Elaborate security arrangements were put in place for PM Modi’s visit to the renowned gurdwara in Bihar’s Patna. Takhat Sri Patna Sahib, also known as Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, is one of the five takhats of the Sikhs and holds immense religious significance. It is situated in the Bihar capital, Patna.
The Gurudwara and takhat were commissioned by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the 18th century to commemorate the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru. Guru Gobind Singh, who fought against Mughal emperors, was born in Patna in 1666. Before relocating to Anandpur Sahib, Guru Gobind Singh spent his early years in the historical city of Patna.
PM Modi’s visit to the gurdwara comes after he held a roadshow in Bihar’s capital on Sunday. He made history by becoming the first prime minister to organize a roadshow in the state.
Today, PM Modi is scheduled to address election rallies in Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, and Saran constituencies of Bihar. As the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections progresses, he urged people across 10 states and union territories to come out and vote in large numbers. He expressed confidence that young and women voters would play a significant role in shaping the election outcome, thus strengthening democracy.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also appealed to the people of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir to exercise their voting rights extensively. He emphasized the importance of every vote in combating Naxalism and contributing to the development of India. Shah urged citizens to cast their votes, reinforcing the foundation of a robust and decisive government.
