The woman, seen waiting for her turn, was struck by a misfired bullet from a pistol owned by sub-inspector Manoj Sharma. Rushed to JN Medical College, she is in critical condition.
The video shows the woman standing in the police station when an officer hands a pistol to sub-inspector Manoj Sharma. Tragically, the gun went off accidentally while being cleaned, causing the woman to fall to the ground. The accused policeman is currently missing.
The family alleges that the woman was facing harassment for money from the officer handling her passport verification. An argument ensued, leading to the officer allegedly shooting her. Jeeshan, a relative, mentioned, “She went for a passport check, receiving money-related calls. We don’t know who shot her or about the money demanded.”
Inspector Manoj Sharma has been suspended immediately due to negligence, and a criminal case has been filed against him. The injured woman is undergoing treatment, supervised by a team of doctors. Aligarh SSP Kalanidhi Naithani assured that the incident’s footage is under investigation by the field unit.
Teams have been formed to look into the matter, and strict action is promised against the accused officer.
