All of us have thought about the purpose of life, the meaning of our existence, what it’s like to die, and whether or not there is an afterlife in our existentialist moments. Death is a fundamental aspect of life, yet the mere thought of our own causes us to shiver. The notion that everything we’ve accomplished will one day be undone. Without you, the world will continue. Even though our legacy might live on, we wouldn’t be around to see it.
These are the questions that have troubled each of us at some point in this tragedy called life. I don’t mean to scare you away. The idea of our own demise. Since no one ever survives to tell the tale, no one can EVER REALLY understand what it’s like to die. There’s a reason why so many of us wind up reading accounts of near-death encounters. The little information we have regarding life’s biggest mystery—death—comes from their stories.
But hold on, there’s a VR simulation that allows you to experience dying in Australia. You did indeed read it right.
A LadBible report claims that people in Melbourne, Australia, are experiencing what it’s like to pass away through a VR simulation. It is a piece of Shaun Gladwell’s exhibit Passing Electrical Storms, which is currently on display at the city’s National Gallery of Victoria.
According to the report, Gladwell’s “extended reality” (XR) encounter was “at once meditative and unsettling.” TikToker ‘croom12’ reportedly released a video detailing his encounter.
In a sense, this is a “virtual” death. Some truly weird VR experiences are available in addition to the typical rollercoaster and haunted ones. For example, this VR headset will ‘kill’ you if you lose a game.
How unbelievable is that? However, are you ever interested in trying something like this?
